My boss:
“Gina, do you know how to create pivot tables in Excel?”
Me:
“Why no, I most certainly don’t. I can see why YOU might find those useful, considering your elitist needs to manipulate data and all, but for me? I’m sorry, it’s just not an option. In fact, even though I would never make the use of pivot tables illegal, I would like to counsel you on the virtues of using good ol’ American pen & paper. You know, the way we Joe Sixpacks have been doin’ it for thousands of years! Since we walked the earth with the dinosaurs pen and paper has worked just fine for us regular folk. It’s important for you to remember that. Especially as Putin rears his head. Thanks, but no thanks. We’ll leave that Excel Elitism for the Old Boy’s Network. When you’re a Maverick, pen & paper works just fine.”
