IANN’S LAST POLTICAL BLOG FOR NOW

My colleague, Iann Robinson (who is now writing at skullnbones.com) has a couple of things to say about the election and it looks at some deeper issues of race, religion and sexual orientation. Take a look at his Thirsty and Miserable column, it’s a good read.

Usually on Friday I do something funny like “This Goes To Eleven” or things like that; instead I wanted to talk a little about this week in history. Barack Obama is now the first African American President in the history of our country. That’s pretty awesome, that’s pretty wonderful to see happen forty years after Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated. I am proud of what we did as a collective, not only with the election but also with turning out to vote in record numbers. That being said I would be remiss if I didn’t also say this.

Let’s not start sucking each other’s dicks quite yet.
